Safari in Kenya: Amboseli and Tsavo West National Park

Опубликовано: 17.11.2022

We had a longer drive ahead of us on our Kenya https://www.brunosafaris.com/index.php/3-days-mombasa-safari-to-tsavo-east-and-tsavo-west trip, we finally had to pass Nairobi. And those who know Nairobi know that traffic can be a bit nerve-wracking at some times of the day.

Our lun was waiting for us at the Amazing Kenya Retreat halfway between Nairobi and Amboseli in a small reserve called Maanzoni whi has savannah grasslands, some zebras and impalas. If you want to make a stop here, you should definitely have a small portion of African serenity and patience with you. True to the motto: Poles! Poles! However, the rooms are very nice.

We went on to the Amboseli National Park, whi bordered us with a unique mixture of dry savannah and swamp landscapes Tanzania expected. The sun was already setting, whi had the effect of bathing the landscape in a beautiful light. To my disappointment, Kilimanjaro, with Amboseli National Park in front of its beautiful backdrop, didn't want to show up again this evening. But that's how it is with Mother Nature in Africa, so I said to myself “Hakuna Matata! It will definitely be something tomorrow!”.

We drove past hippos and some elephants to our lodge for the night – the Amboseli Serena Lodge. Amboseli Serena Lodge is a large 92 room lodge that is popular for its location. We only recommend this accommodation for travelers who do not like to stay in safari tents and prefer to stay in permanent accommodation. The camps, for exame, are smaller and more tranquil Satao Elerai and Kibo Safari Camp (both just outside the national park).

Morning followed a restful night in Amboseli National Park. With joyful anticipation, my first glance wandered outside - can Kili be seen now? Unfortunately my room was on the wrong side. But our guide Samuel came to breakfast beaming with joy and reported on his sighting. And I rejoiced with him that, after so many years as a tour guide, he was moving to Kenya hasn't seen enough yet.

After a morning game drive in Amboseli National Park we visited the sustainable Tortili's Camp. A 4 star luxury camp with a great location and 16 tents. And suddenly it was there: Kilimanjaro right in front of us. I was fascinated by the view you have from this camp.

This is my other personal highlight Porini Amboseli Camp. Both camps - Tortilis and Porini - are rather expensive, but they offer a unique safari experience.
